The aims of the FCOA include:
- To stimulate informed discussion on issues that matter.
- To keep abreast of the way the FCO is changing and why.
- To enable past and present FCO staff to stay in touch in person.
With nearly 2000 members, it provides an online magazine; regular newsbriefs; an annual reception; an annual lecture on topics of national and international interest; and a range of other activities and events. The Association’s office is located in London.
Governed by a board of directors under David Broucher’s chairmanship and acting in accordance with its constitution and articles of association under the 2006 Companies Act, the FCOA is a lively, independent organisation seeking to play an important part in the pursuit of matters of mutual interest in an ever changing world.
